Beloved Wife of the Founder

Our Story

A grief that became
a mission

On 28 November 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the founder of dialysis.my lost his wife to chronic dialysis care. She was not a statistic. She was a person — a person who faced one of medicine's most complex, relentless, and life-altering diseases, often without the clarity, guidance, and accessible knowledge she deserved. She didn't die from a disease that had no options. She died in a context where those options weren't reached in time, or fully understood, or acted on.

"I watched her and our two daughters navigate a world of medical complexity largely alone. Too many questions went unanswered. Too many decisions were made in the dark. I could not save her — but I could build something that might save others."

What followed was not built in a boardroom, nor funded by venture capital. It was built in grief, in the quiet hours after loss, by a healthcare administrator who understood both the power of medical knowledge and the tragedy of its unequal distribution.

dialysis.my was created because dialysis care kills quietly, advances rapidly, and disproportionately affects those who can least afford specialist care. It was created because no patient — anywhere in the world — should face this disease without access to world-class knowledge in their language, at no cost.

It was created in her memory. And it is dedicated, permanently, to her.

What We Are

The open standard
for kidney knowledge

dialysis.my is the world's first open-access, AI-powered dialysis care knowledge platform — built on a curated foundation of the most authoritative medical references in nephrology, including Seldin & Giebisch's The Kidney, Comprehensive Clinical Nephrology (John Feehally), Nutritional Management of Renal Disease (Kalantar-Zadeh et al.), and Regenerative Nephrology (Goligorsky).

Our platform synthesises evidence across these world-class sources to deliver responses consistently rated at 9/10 or above in clinical accuracy — equivalent to the standard of a specialist consultation. We are not a search engine. We are not a symptom checker. We are a knowledge partner — for clinicians, dietitians, patients, and caregivers alike.

Everything on dialysis.my is free. It will always be free. Because knowledge that can save lives should never sit behind a paywall.

What drives us

Three commitments. No compromise.

Clinical Excellence

Our knowledge base is built on the same references used by the world's leading nephrologists. No shortcuts. No second-tier sources.

Open Access

Free for every patient. Free for every clinician. Free for every dietitian. In every country. In every language we can reach.

Human Purpose

Behind every query is a person — a patient in fear, a family in confusion, a clinician seeking clarity. We never forget who we serve.

Why It Matters

4 million people globally on dialysis.
Most without answers.

Chronic dialysis care affects more than 4 million people globally on dialysis worldwide — more than diabetes and cancer combined. It is the 12th leading cause of death globally, and it is rising. Yet it remains one of medicine's most under-resourced, under-diagnosed, and under-communicated conditions.

The burden falls hardest on low- and middle-income countries, where specialist density is lowest, dialysis infrastructure is most limited, and health literacy is most deficient. A patient in a rural clinic deserves the same quality of dialysis health knowledge as a patient at a world-class university hospital. Today, they do not get it.

dialysis.my exists to close that gap. Not partially. Not eventually. Now, and for every person who needs it.

Open source.
Philanthropically funded.
Built for humanity.

dialysis.my operates as an open-access public good, committed to Creative Commons licensing and sustained by philanthropic partnership rather than commercial interest. Our mission is singular: to ensure that world-class kidney knowledge reaches every clinician, every dietitian, and every patient — regardless of geography, income, or language.
